In order to manipulate sand the Sandbenders have had to develop new techniques.
Sand behaves very differently to solid rock being almost fluid in nature. However the Sandbenders have taken this ability to a much higher level to be able adapt to life in the Si Wong desert. The ability to bend sand (particulate matter) seems to common among Earthbenders for example General Fong uses what appears to be sand to counter Katara’s waterwhip (The Avatar State) and a number of Earthbenders have been seen turning rock into quicksand. Who-can-rock-a-rhyme-like-this asked: What do you think of sandbenders? Do you have any idea about what their fighting style is (or is based off of)?
